What Not To Pack, The Weather and When to Visit
When to visit, what the weather will be like, and what not to pack and what to pack is the question... hopefully the list below will lighten your luggage but if you're not sure just ask. Don't forget your waterproofs, walking boots and sun cream. Despite the need for rain to top up the lakes, the weather can be surprising ranging from snow to glorious sunshine - occasionally all on the same day in the winter!
Our favourite times of the year are : January and February (weather can be dodgy, but just as often we'll have clear blue cool brisk days) April, May, June, September, October and December. Having said that, the lake district is really a 12 month destination these days and you'll find pubs restaurants and shops open all year, quiet spots to hunker down in the busy season, and the most glorious walking and views any time.
